We believe very strongly in offering you and your pet the opportunity to get some basic advice about how to feed, treat and look after your pet as they growing up and get older. This also gives us an opportunity to get to know you and our patients.
Puppy and kitten clinics
The puppy and kitten clinics are aimed to support you and your new addition when things can be at their most trying. If you’re having training problems, diet concerns, etc, book an appointment to chat things through and get your furry friend used to coming to visit us. We’ve been running these clinics for a little while now and are really noticing the positive change it’s having when animals come back at six months of age for neutering. Animals come into the hospital and our other practices much more relaxed as they know the smells, noises and people so the experience is much better for them.
Weight watching clinics
Weight watchers just like for people, is a way for you to get helpful advice your pet’s weight. It’s a very simple equation, if the food energy take in is greater than the energy expended in normal day to day activities the body will store the excess as fat. So if your pet is putting on the pounds and already doesn’t eat very much then you will need to encourage them to be more active to burn off the calories. Change them to a light calorie food. It will be difficult and take some time to shift the weight but it’s in your pet’s best interest to stay fit and in good condition. Regular weight checks will monitor your progress.
